7th August of 2017 Riyadh Saudi Green Building Forum namely saaf® has officially after voting committee has granted it the Consultative Special Status within the United Nations. A congratulation letter issued on (7th August 2017) outlined the approval from the coordination and management meeting held in July 2017. The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) adopted the recommendation of the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

The consultative appointment of SGBF allows members to engage with the United National Secretariat programmes and to participate by presenting important pressing matters from key speakers within their field of competence. Now we join the ECOSOC efforts for all the goals that matter to our mission, our voice your voice will make the change within at the round table and eye to eye, all good for Humanity and the Environment". It's recognized that they are five organization in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 1979, including The National Society for Human Rights approved as well since 2017 by UN ECOSOC.

SGBF is a NGO in Consultative Special Status with Economic and Social Council of United Nation, a professional civil society, membership based organization focuses on a green building practice and culture assisting in the development of a comprehensive collection of guiding systems and standards powered by four strategic pillars: Conference, Education, Projects, and Marketplace.
